here's how it works

Design Process

Starting a project off strong, before any design, allows for a more powerful process from print to final files.

day 1

typography

Finding fonts can be overwhelming; we will look at how to take control of our overflowing font library while also seeing what fonts we can legally use.

day 2

Adobe

day 3

We will have a quick glance and what Adobe is offering these days, along with a deeper dive into an Adobe program of your choice!

be a showoff

Presenting our work is sometimes as important as the work itself. We want to wow the client or job interview, and that takes some extra detail and design.

day 4

Always Improving

Now that your design skills are on the up-and-up, I’ll drop some of the things I have learned from being a creative business owner, we’ll chat about the big scary dollar signs, and end with the importance of community!

day 5

As a novice designer who is fortunate to have a lot of business, this as a really great challenge to refine my initial design process and get more creative. I am actively using some of the process steps provided on my active projects, and the typography lesson has expanded how I search for font options for clients.

The action items were my favorite, it gave me the opportunity to take what I learned and apply it and practice in a more constructive way than just doing it all on my own.
